About Us

Ucomar was founded in 1956 in the port of Antwerp as part of a larger maritime group. It is a privately-owned company with share structure under public law. The legal person is a BV. Since Ucomar's founding, a lot has changed in the maritime world, so we too want to change but only without compromising the spirit of our company: family-like and firmly anchored in the local Antwerp harbor. To reinforce this, Ucomar moved in early 2016 to its current address at Transcontinentaalweg 6, in the heart of the port of Antwerp, in early 2016.

Of course we cannot guarantee this quality service on our own. Thanks to a very extensive network - spread over Western Europe and its main ports - that we have built up over the years, we have good personal contacts with all kinds of suppliers: terminals (both inside the port area as well as inland), shipping companies, warehouse owners, road carriers (both exceptional and conventional , FTL/LTL, containers), packers, customs and tax specialists. In this way we are able to offer a high-quality service to all our customers. Because we do not work with exclusivity contracts, we are very flexible and able to respond quickly if problems arise during our operations. Moreover, Ucomar is a member of the IFLN (International Freight Logistics Network), which means that we can guarantee worldwide coverage of all kinds of forwarding activities through our IFLN partners.
